Why I Love Working In Kids Fitness

There are a number of reasons why I love working in kids fitness.

The ones I've selected are definitely the first ones that come to mind.  While no day is the same, and some days are better than others, there are a few benefits that no other profession can match.Get a FREE Infographic and Report On Kids Sports and Fitness Businesses

They are the moments that always bring a smile to my face, and remind me why owning a kids fitness business is the best job in the world.

5 Reasons To Love A Kids Fitness Business

Everyone who starts a JumpBunch has a different story. They come from a different background, and may be looking for something different in their career. That said, they stay for reasons like this:

#1:  I get to be a rock star

Kids watch through the window as I gather and move my equipment into the building.  They jump up and down calling my name (or something close) as I walk by their classrooms.  I am greeted with smiles, laughter, and enthusiasm as children enter the room for the class.  There is anticipation for next week before the current class even ends.

It is truly as close as I will ever get to being famous…and I love every minute of it because the kids truly enjoy what I bring.  Can you picture this kind of reception in your current job?

#2:  I can see the results of my work

It is amazing to see a child gain confidence - better yet use that confidence to make measurable improvements to what they can physically do.  This happens every single week. That ah-ha! moment when something clicks in the child, and they just geit it.

While to me the changes are often small and gradual, a parent will often see things in more dramatic fashion when their child suddenly does something they had no idea they were capable of.  Getting those comments from parents is priceless.

#3:  I have to lead by example

That’s what a great teacher does right?  Working in kids fitness keeps me grounded so that I have a daily reminder of the importance of eating well, sleeping well, and embracing the value of being active.  If you don’t believe in it, the children can tell…but because we do, they do as well.

#4:  I work with people who share my passion

Admittedly, hiring and managing employees can be one of the most difficult parts of working in kids fitness, or any business for that matter.  Yet, it is also one of the most enjoyable.  We get to hand pick those we want to represent us, and often that introduces us to people who have an amazing background in children’s education that we can draw from.

On the flip side, it allows us to give people a chance to work with kids and tap into a passion and a fantastic career - just as we did.  Often JumpBunch is the beginning of someone’s career in teaching or coaching. You can help set in motion that career to the benefit of the kids.

#5:  I never lose sight of my “why”

In any career choice, you should always know why you do what you do.  For that matter, the why is critical to anything you pursue, career or otherwise.  If you don’t have any answer to that one word question, then you should question continuing to do it.

Working with kids fitness and JumpBunch, my “why” is front and center at all times.  The bad days are never that bad and the good days are so much better.
